World Occupational Therapy Day is celebrated on October 27 each year. This day was launched to raise awareness of the role of occupational therapists in helping individuals regain their ability to perform daily life activities and improve their quality of life and independence after injuries or disabilities.

The Occupational Therapy Department organized the "World Occupational Therapy Day" exhibition, which aims to highlight the importance of occupational and home therapy and provide home services that help patients live their lives normally outside the hospital.
Dr. Fida Idris, a faculty member in the Occupational Therapy Department, confirmed that the event was part of the students' efforts to provide home therapy services and methods for home treatment, as well as to present real stories from the mothers of patients receiving treatment. Dr. Idris pointed out that the department also participated in the "International Day of Persons with Disabilities" event, which was held under the patronage of the university president and in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs. During this event, valuable workshops and lectures were conducted, addressing many issues concerning the future of students, health work ethics, and how to choose a specialization. She expressed her delight at the participation of Dr. Nadia Al-Khalidi, who discussed mental health and personality types and how they can determine your character and the strengths and weaknesses of each personality, pointed out that it is important before choosing any specialization to reflect on one's own personality to understand how well one can accept this specialization before it's too late, wishing everyone continued success and prosperity.

Under the patronage and presence of the Dean of the College of Health Sciences, Dr. Suad Mohammed Al-Fadhli organized the World Occupational Therapy Day event for people with disabilities over two consecutive days at the Medical Sciences Center in Jabriya and at The Avenues Mall on October 27-28, 2022. The event was attended by faculty members and students from the Occupational Therapy Department. The aim of the event was to raise awareness about the importance of occupational therapy in Kuwait, which helps individuals with disabilities adapt behaviorally to society.
