Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy is a healthcare profession dedicated to promoting, restoring, and optimizing movement and function across the lifespan. Since 1982, the Department of Physical Therapy at Kuwait University has prepared students to become highly competent and compassionate professionals. The degree awarded upon completion of the program is the Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physical Therapy. As one of the core departments of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, it offers education and training in musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and pediatric rehabilitation. The program combines theoretical coursework, laboratory practice, and extensive clinical training in hospitals and rehabilitation centres, with special facilities and support available for students with special needs, such as accessible buildings and laboratories, and assistive learning tools. Additionally, a dedicated committee is available to serve them and ensure their academic needs are met.

Graduates are well prepared to work across diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centres, intensive care units, burn and surgical wards, pediatrics and geriatrics, psychiatry, and sports rehabilitation. Career opportunities are available in various institutions such as the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Defense, National Guard, Police, oil sector, Ministry of Social Affairs, Ministry of Education, as well as private hospitals.
