On Wednesday, December 22, 2022, the Acting Director of Kuwait University and Dean of the College of Medical and Rehabilitation Sciences, Professor Dr. Suad Al-Fadhli, inaugurated the College's Training and Consulting Center. In her opening speech, she stated that the center is a huge project that serves Kuwait University, the health sector, and the community by providing training courses in various fields, hoping that all members of Kuwait University and the Ministry of Health will fully benefit from this center to develop the medical and health sector.
Professor Al-Fadhli thanked all those involved in establishing the center, including faculty members, administrative staff, and the Assistant Dean's Office for Training and Consulting, for their recent efforts in bringing this project to fruition. She wished them continued success.
For his part, Dr. Mohammed Nazar, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Consulting, and Training, commended Professor Al-Fadhli for transforming the idea of establishing the Training and Consulting Center into a tangible reality that serves the entire Kuwaiti community and develops scientific, intellectual, and physical skills, such as physical rehabilitation for joint and muscle mobility, and mental rehabilitation for focus, attention, and memory and brain activation.
Dr. Nazar added that the center offers training courses and public services such as first aid for all segments of society, in addition to training courses in surgery and radiological diagnosis. He noted that in the coming months, students will be trained in first aid, and sign language courses and health training courses serving the medical community will soon be offered. He pointed out that there is a specialized staff of faculty members from within and outside the college, and that experienced individuals will be brought in to assist with workshops and training courses in all aspects.
The Office of Consulting and Training at the College of Medical Sciences at Kuwait University signed a cooperation agreement with MENA LIFE to establish an accredited training center offering exclusive training courses in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and public safety (BLS, ACLS, and CPR), adhering to the highest international standards. On this occasion, Dr. Mohammed Shaaban Nazar, Acting Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, Consulting, and Training, affirmed that this agreement represents a strategic step towards aligning academic education outcomes with labor market needs. He emphasized the importance of enhancing medical care and vocational training standards at the national level to keep pace with modern advancements in emergency and healthcare fields.
Under the agreement, the new center will serve as an accredited training and standards arm in Kuwait, offering a comprehensive suite of advanced services, including: Specialized medical training programs in first aid, basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and occupational safety, in accordance with the latest international protocols from ASHI/HIS, as well as continuing education programs for healthcare practitioners through the design and implementation of accredited development courses with Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours targeting specialists in both the public and private sectors.
This agreement reflects the College of Allied Health Sciences' commitment to expanding its partnerships with specialized entities and supporting impactful initiatives that contribute to the development of the healthcare and education system in the State of Kuwait.
