The Department of Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Kuwait University, is a pioneering academic department dedicated to preparing qualified professionals who combine medical, administrative, and information technology knowledge to enhance healthcare systems.

About the Major
Health Informatics and Information Management (HIIM) is an interdisciplinary field that integrates healthcare science, management, and information technology. It focuses on the collection, organization, analysis, protection, and use of health data to improve the quality of patient care and support clinical and administrative decision-making.
The curriculum covers topics such as:
•    Biomedical sciences and healthcare statistics.
•    Quality management and performance improvement.
•    Health information systems and management.
•    Healthcare privacy, confidentiality, and ethics.
•    Applied health informatics and electronic health records.

Nature of Study
The program offers a Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management, requiring 127 credit hours.
It combines theoretical and practical learning through:
•    Classroom and computer-assisted learning.

•    Specialized laboratories simulating hospital information systems.
