The Acting Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Mohammed Nazar, announced that the College's Occupational Therapy Department has received renewed academic accreditation from the World Federation of Occupational Therapy until 2031. This comes as the College of Allied Health Sciences continues to make steady strides toward developing its educational curricula and expanding its specializations and programs.
Dr. Nazar explained that the college is in constant development and is distinguished by the quality of its graduates, whose numbers are increasing from year to year. He pointed out that through the Scientific Poster Day event organized by the college, the extent of interest and keenness of the faculty members and students in providing the best and most advanced services that serve the medical and educational aspects that serve the labor market in our beloved country, Kuwait under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him, wishing continued success and further development in all fields.
For his part, the Acting Head of the Occupational Therapy Department, Dr. Nasser Al-Otaibi, expressed his pleasure at the Occupational Therapy Department at Kuwait University receiving academic accreditation from the World Federation of Occupational Therapy, noting that this significant and distinguished achievement is a very important aspect of the educational field, enhancing the evaluation and classification of the College of Allied Health Sciences and Kuwait University regionally and globally.
Dr. Al-Otaibi extended his sincere thanks to the President of Kuwait University, Prof. Dina Musaed Al-Mailam, for her distinguished support and appreciation for the efforts of the scientific department in this regard, noting that this increases the sense of responsibility for further work and giving, This will lead to development and progress in the fields of research and education. Dr. Al-Otaibi concluded his speech by saying that this academic achievement contributes positively not only to the scientific department, but also to providing the best therapeutic services to patients by occupational therapy graduates in our beloved country, Kuwait.
Professor Akram Mahmoud Espita, from the Department of Radiologic Sciences, the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, the University of Kuwait, participated in the Annual Conference of the American Vascular Sonar Society, which will be held from August 7 to 9, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
Prof. Espita has given a lecture on the uses of medical sonar in the early detection of brain strokes in children with anemia, with a focus on external static arteries, the study conducted in Kuwait also reviewed a group of patients, with the presence of elite consultants in the fields of radiology, hematology and blood vessels, And he got the likes of the turnout.
This research was recently submitted to an international scientific journal and an international court, and it is a research funded by the Research Department at the University of Kuwait under project number NR02/21.
